The defender of India, the Indian Armed Forces is on duty in the high mountains even in bone chilling temperatures. The army posts in Ladakh see temperatures as low as -30 degree Celcius and about 20,000 troops are posted there. There is no surety of electricity or sunshine. The Jawans use electric heater, kerosene and wood in the barracks to fend off the cold which are not energy efficient and pollute the environment. Now, Ladakh’s engineer, innovator and education reformist Sonam Wangchuk has made an OMG! invention to beat the cold.
